Diwali is the most famous festival of Hindu Culture celebrated all over
the India. Reason for this celebration is win of light over darkness, the home
coming of Lord Rama after the exile of fourteen years. In between Rama had war
with Ravana for the freedom of his wife (Mata Sita). After win over Ravana Rama
returned to his homeland. People of Hindu religion rejoiced their home coming by
lightening the ‘Diyas’(Lamps). From that day this day is celebrated as Diwali.
On the same
night that Hindus celebrate Diwali, Jains
celebrate a festival also called Diwali to mark the attainment of Moksha by Mahavira,
Sikhs
celebrate Bandi Chhor Divas to mark the release of Guru Hargobind
from a Mughal Empire prison, and Newar Buddhists,
unlike the majority of Buddhists, celebrate Diwali by worshipping Lakshmi. People make rangoli in their home.
On the eve of
Diwali people of Hindu religion clean their houses and decorate their houses,
because some people also Pray Mata Laxmi( Goddess of money) for their fertility
and prosperity. They worship Mata Laxmi on the night of Diwali. Also people
wear new clothes and distribute sweets among relatives. People celebrate Diwali
with their family. Hindus in India's eastern region, such as Odisha
and West Bengal, worship the goddess Kali instead of Lakshmi, and call the
festival Kali Puja
Deepavali also marks a major shopping period in nations where it is
celebrated. Now a day’s people started firing crackers on this festival in
their happiness. On this festival people celebrate for happiness by making
delicious foods and many type of sweets in the night
This autumn season (In November) if you are planning to visit India then
